Interested in Learning?

I am starting a new blog for this endeavor. If your interested in helping out email me or reply to this post.

Believe it or not I'm an American Red Cross certified CPR/AED and First Aid instructor. I was teaching a class today to a group of mothers and it hit me. I bet many of my readers out there are mommys and daddys and I bet many of them have no clue how to properly perform CPR or Rescue Breathing.

If your interested in learning I can put together a couple of posts demonstrating the skills through text and pictures so that you all may at least learn the basic skills needed when performing a rescue.

Thoughts?

  4. I think its a great idea. I'd prolly post it as a "suggestion". You never know.

My son wasn't premature but he had serious damage to his lungs at birth. I had to go through a class probably exactly like Storm teaches and yourself.

We honestly could NOT take him home until we were certified. I thought it was a bit silly but...

When he was 7 months old, turning blue while choking on something... The skills we learned is what saved his life.

I truly commend you both for teaching such classes.

and um, a good oral exam is always nice. lol Not on a kid though. *blech*

    *cheers!*

  5. Excellent idea. I went on a one-day course years ago, and unfortunately had reason to practice what I learned shortly afterwards. That incident ended tragically, and the whole experience was very traumatic, but that's anther story.

    Thanks, KOW.

  11. I actually got certified before I had my daughter. I wanted to make sure that if she needed me, I could be there for her...even if it meant breathing the life back into her.
