Greatest Soundtrack Ever?

There are very few albums I will listen to beginning to end without stopping or jumping through and this is one of them. No one can deny this albums ability to get your ass shaking. You hear the beats and all of a sudden your saying to yourself "This rocks!". You have the Bee Gees at the top of their game, swank ass instrumentals, and then the coup de gras The Trampps "Disco Inferno" which to me is one of the best songs ever written and reason enough to sit through the Kool and the Gang and KC and the Sunshine Band songs towards the end of the album.

I want to hear from you what you think is the best soundtrack out there?

  6. This is a good soundtrack...but it really shows our age. :-)

I love the soundtrack from Pretty Woman...yes I'm cheesey.

  7. I'm gonna spread the cheese thick here and go with the soundtrack for a very lame movie, Last Action Hero. The movie was horrid, but the soundtrack kicked ass! This is an album I can listen to from start to finish.

I have to agree with your analysis of SNF as well though. Very good selection and it does jam!

  8. All my favourite soundtracks are favourites more for sentimental reasons than for the actual quality of their songs. Practical Magic, The Craft, and Cruel Intentions are ones that my best friend and I always used to listen to together in high school. When I hear them I get nostalgic for her big old house and its overflowing refridgerator, and for those nights when we'd take bottles of wine from her parents basement and go drink them at the beach and then jump into the ocean.

  12. Ok, for soundtracks..I would have to say Grease (I know cheesey) and Last American Virgin.

Now, for general albums..this one that my father gave me a few years before he died. I sure wish I knew what happened to that album. I would love to have another copy but don't want to pay what this guy wants for it. Ever hear of Funky Favorites?

    Hmmm...
Dirty Dancing is another one - first movie I ever owned, and on VHS.
13 Going on 30, gotta love the 80's music!
The only other one I can think of at the top of my head that I own is Romey and Michele's High School Reunion. There's some more great 80s' music!
