Ebay

Anyone ever had their ebay account invaded? That's what ebay is telling me. Apparently some fuckhead decided to hop into my account and start fucking around. I've taken all of my info off of ebay and paypal to be sure and it doesn't look like anything has hit my wallet yet but who knows.

I have a coworker who received a similiar sort of email from eBay telling her the same thing and that she would have to confirm all information and the same for her paypal acct. Turns out it was a scam for her to give up her credit card/bank acct. information again to someone who claims to be from eBay and Paypal.

Check it out first Kow before you do anything.

kimmyk is right. I was just about to post the same thing. Normally you will get emails telling you that someone has screwed with it when in fact they can't get into it and they are looking for poor souls to enter their account information. I usually enter profanties :)

Same as the others. A lot of Ebay emails but I've never had an account.

There are loads of scammers out there like kimmyk said. I used to work at the Fraud department of a credit card company and could tell some SCARY stories.

Make sure it's not a scam, but I have had my ebay account hacked by soom goon who wanted to sell ripped off mobile phones so it does happen.

My coworker fell for that scheme while at work. I checked the URL the e-mail led him to, and it was completely fake, and showed it to him. Needless to say, he felt stupid afterwards, but whatever, lesson learned.

Check the url, and if you see something like cgi.ebay.com, or anything with ebay.com in the URL, you should be fine. If you see something totally different, enter the URL in upto where it says .com, or .net, or .(whatever). Most will lead you to sites not in this country.
